About The Position

Monogram Aerospace Fasteners is seeking a Plater Helper for their 1st shift operations. This on-site, full-time, hourly position is responsible for washing, cleaning, and drying production parts, maintaining the strength of cleaning solutions, and transporting parts between locations. The role involves operating various equipment for chemical processing and surface preparation, ensuring proper solution mixes, and performing daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment and the work area. The Plater Helper will also learn about waste streams and their requirements, and work as an active team member to improve processes and productivity. This role requires attention to work instructions and process controls, with responsibility for the quality and condition of parts after processing. Communication with co-workers, leads, and supervisors is essential, as is maintaining good housekeeping and adhering to chemical safety rules. While direct supervision is provided, the role requires the ability to follow instructions, maintain an efficient workflow, and perform other related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read and write English of a level required in company shop documents and computer software entry and processing requirements.
  • Capable of applying mathematical operations including the use of fractions and decimals to exacting tolerances (±.0001) as required by chemical processing procedures.
  • No experience is required.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, or obtain any required government authorization.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen.
  • Satisfactory results of a reference/background check.
  • Signing a Confidential Information and Invention Assignment Agreement and an Agreement to Arbitrate.

Nice To Haves

  • Skills and knowledge in chemical processing and the use of tools and equipment such as overhead crane, parts washer, tumble barrel, salt cleaner, centrifugal dryer etc. is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to identify material and processes to be performed from job order or other written instructions.
  • Perform cleaning and surface preparation processes to prepare parts for further machining or surface finishing.
  • Meet employee efficiency levels for the various processes.
  • Maintain fluid levels for chemical plating, lubrication, and cleaning baths.
  • Make appropriate chemical adjustments per addition instructions to maintain proper solution mix.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment pertaining to chemical processing plating operations such as overhead crane, parts washer, tumble barrel, salt cleaner, centrifugal dryer etc.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Clean work area daily.
  • Learn waste streams from the various processes and requirements pertaining to them.
  • Maintain transport pans and transport parts to and from various locations in the department.
  • Keep loading areas clean and safe.
  • Ensure that containers are sturdy and effective.
  • Participate in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve processes, productivity, quality, etc.
  • Use interpersonal skills as well as good written and verbal communications.
  • Assist other team members as required.
  • Ensure calibration stickers are current and solution parameters such as tank level and temperature are compliant to the work instructions.
  • Perform safety checklist and equipment maintenance activities as required.
  • Perform duties that require close attention to work instructions and process controls.
  • Responsible for quality and condition of parts upon completion of the process performed.
  • Communicate to appropriate personnel any problems or concerns regarding quality of work received or time flow of work in progress as it affects production schedules.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the general work area for the safety of self and co-workers.
  • Adhere to company safety rules.
  • Take on or report for additional work as current tasks are completed.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as deemed necessary.
