About The Position

Velcro USA Inc. is hiring a Plastics Specialist for its Somersworth, New Hampshire manufacturing operation. This is an onsite, hands-on role involving operation of manufacturing equipment according to established Standard Operating Procedures and Control Plans. The specialist is expected to maintain safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards while performing varying assignments and supporting production goals. The role requires certification in PVS Level 1 training checklist items within six weeks of hire and flexibility to become certified in multiple focus factory areas. The specialist will perform documented quality checks, interpret job routing information, complete computer transactions or paperwork, and train new associates in essential job functions. The position operates on the first shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime potentially including extended shifts and weekends. Requirements

High school diploma and/or GED.
Prior experience with computerized data collection systems.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate manufacturing equipment and follow established procedures.
Ability to complete training and become certified in multiple focus factory areas.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Excellent attendance.
Full-time presence required.
Ability to work overtime as requested or required, including extended shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

Operate complex manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures and Control Plans.
Maintain safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards and meet established production standards.
Adhere to safety protocols, promote a safe work environment, report incidents and near-misses, and contribute to investigations as appropriate.
Participate as required in safety initiatives, including rotating safety committee duties, Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
Obtain certification in all PVS Level 1 (Plastics Specialist and/or FNL) Training Checklist items within six weeks of hiring.
Become certified in multiple focus factory areas as needed.
Read and interpret Discrete Job Routing Sheets and Repetitive(s).
Perform quality checks as documented.
Complete necessary computer transactions or paperwork.
Notify appropriate personnel of incidents or situations that may trigger the contingency plan.
Work toward personal and departmental goals.
Complete training and operate PITs successfully.
Train new associates in essential job functions.
Work collaboratively in a team environment.
Work overtime when requested or required, potentially including extended shifts and weekends.
