About The Position

Armstrong Rapid Manufacturing has been in business for over 50 years in the East Syracuse NY area. Armstrong specializes in both prototyped and low volume production machined castings. The Plastics Molder produces reaction injection molded parts and molded parts, maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records; maintains equipment and supplies, and assists with/conducts changeovers as necessary. Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalent.
  • Ability to read job traveler, prints, diagram, and use basic measuring tools as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to walk, remain on feet for extended time periods, reach, stoop.
  • Ability to grip hand tools and depress controls.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more of plastic injection molding machine operation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Using hoist, hand tool, Canon and Hytech machines, and R.I.M. presses (engages control machine controls) to mold parts to customer specifications.
  • Uses scales, vacuum chamber and autoclave to product parts to customer specifications.
  • Uses hand and power tools to remove flash and gates or conduct changeovers.
  • Assists/conducts mold changes including clamping process as necessary.
  • Coordinates first piece approval with quality inspection and makes periodic visual checks to ensure quality and adjusts equipment as necessary.
  • Completes required reports and records including but not limited to production output.
  • Meets quality and quantity standards for the position.
  • Proactively supports the ISO process approach to quality management and the Syteline MIS system.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment, and practices good housekeeping.
  • Maintains regular on-time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Performs other tasks as directed including deburring parts and performing other operations during cycle.
