About The Position

The Plastics Engineer Intern will gain exposure to a broad range of primary and secondary plastic injection molding processes and will be mentored by an experienced Engineer. The internship immerses the candidate in a manufacturing organization and provides experience with operations in molding and assembly, as well as related manufacturing technologies and processes.

Requirements

• Pursuing a BS in Plastics Engineering or Plastics Technology.
• Passionate about plastic injection molding.
• Able to complete individual assignments and work in a team environment.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Must have transportation to and from the internship.

Responsibilities

• Sample new and existing molds under the guidance of a Plastics Engineer.
• Develop robust scientific molding processes.
• Design end-of-arm tooling in SolidWorks, procure components, assemble the tooling, and test it.
• Evaluate auxiliary equipment requirements, including material dryers, water temperature control units, and hot runner controls.
• Evaluate molded-part parameters to determine equipment specifications and request quotes for new equipment.
• Complete mold-filling analysis using Autodesk Mold Flow.
