About The Position

The Plastic Molding Operator II independently operates plastic molding machines and performs troubleshooting to support efficient production. The role uses knowledge of low-pressure molding techniques and quality standards to produce and inspect molded parts. It also involves material preparation, routine machine maintenance, production documentation, and following safety protocols. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of work experience in plastic molding.
Knowledge of MS Office applications.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to operate and calibrate machinery.
Basic understanding of molding materials and production processes.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs.
Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

Set up, prepare, and operate plastic molding machines.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues involving cycle times, expansion, and cooling.
Monitor production output and inspect molded products for quality assurance.
Conduct regular quality checks on molded parts and make adjustments as needed.
Handle raw materials, including Low Pressure Molding pellets, and ensure proper feeding into molding machines.
Blend and mix materials to meet production requirements.
Perform routine maintenance on molding machines.
Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, process parameters, and quality control measurements.
Document adjustments made during the molding process.
Follow safety protocols and identify and report safety hazards or concerns.
Assist with other duties as required.
