About The Position

The Plasma Table Operator receives instructions from the Production Manager or Team Leader pertaining to the assignments and expectations for the day. The operator will have been trained on the Plasma Table and will be required to follow processes and procedures either posted or directed by management.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Ability to read all necessary gauges.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of each machine and their functions
  • Reading, writing and math skills are essential. Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations.
  • Skills in reading blueprints, fabrication and welding.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plan based on specifications.
  • Knowledge of overhead cranes.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 75 pounds 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to crouch, kneel and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken word, and distinguish objects and equipment visually

Responsibilities

  • Readies table for production.
  • Checks to be sure the machine has the appropriate computer program and necessary tools.
  • Monitors machine during use to address any problems and adjusts as needed.
  • Inspect the finished product to ensure specifications have been met. This includes grade, thickness, and size, as well as other key measurements.
  • Performs daily inspections using quality checkpoints before and after use along with weekly and monthly preventative maintenance.
  • Measures and keeps useable drop material and records thickness, grade, and dimensions. To help keep track of inventory.
  • Alert the supervisor to any concerns or problems with the machine.
  • Assures their assignments are completed on time.
  • Responsible for safety and housekeeping of their area.
  • Fills out paperwork according to manager instructions.
  • Uses forklifts to load and carry material.
