About The Position

This role involves performing a variety of duties to plan, set up, and spray parts to meet production requirements. The position requires masking and/or grit blasting parts to prepare for coating, and using judgment to determine the proper flow and speed of spray for optimal results and compliance with specifications. The Plasma Sprayer will interpret work orders, engine manuals, and blueprints to understand the required operations and sequence. Additionally, this role will collaborate with Engineering to develop plasma spray programs, determine new methods, develop parameters, and select material types for new or modified products, as well as assist with new tooling ideas. The position also ensures the proper use of fixtures and tools, maintains adequate inventory levels of materials, and requisitions materials and tooling as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience plasma spraying; aerospace environment preferred
• Knowledge/Practical use and programming abilities of Plasma and Oxy/Fuel Thermal Spray (Oerlikon 9MC).
• Good mathematical skills
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents
