About The Position

The Plant Utility position at ADM’s Columbus, Nebraska facilities assists with implementing plant preventive maintenance programs and supports operators and the maintenance team. The role includes light maintenance and helping lock out/tag out equipment or prepare equipment for cleaning, steaming, or CIP. The Plant Utility also gathers and runs samples, safely unloads chemical deliveries, performs plant cleaning tasks, and works with operators to learn plant processes and assist with troubleshooting. Team members are expected to participate actively in safety and training and pursue opportunities to develop their knowledge and careers. Successful completion of a background check is required.

Requirements

Successfully complete a background check.
Use approved safety equipment and successfully complete all safety certification requirements.

Responsibilities

Clean screens and floors using a broom, shovel, and water hose.
Clean process areas as assigned by the Master Sanitation Schedule and help keep the department tour-ready.
Assist Operations during emergencies, including troubleshooting and gathering samples.
Safely unload chemical deliveries.
Perform light maintenance on departmental equipment as needed.
Set up equipment for cleaning, steaming, or CIP as needed.
Paint equipment or structures, including stair railings and building walls.
Conduct monthly fire protection hydrant inspections.
Perform duties safely, use approved safety equipment, and complete required safety certifications.
Participate actively in training.
Operate a forklift, skid loader, and pay loader.
Run a trash pump to remove water from an area.
Run a grain vacuum to reclaim product back into the process.
Gather supplies from the warehouse.
Dump process waste hoppers in designated areas.
Perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.
