About The Position

The Plant Utility position performs day-to-day duties to complete work safely and on time while maintaining a clean work site. The employee follows the safety program and contributes as a member of the team. Work is performed in a plant environment, with most work taking place outdoors and exposure to inclement weather. Duties may change as employer needs and job requirements change. Essential functions may be evaluated and reasonable accommodation considered for an employee or applicant with a disability, as described under the ADA.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to read, speak, and write English.
• Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. or more regularly.
• Frequently able to walk on uneven ground.
• Able to use hands and arms to handle, install, position, and move materials and manipulate objects.
• Able to wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats, when needed.
• Regularly able to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility.
• Dependable and reliable, with the ability to fulfill responsibilities.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, and commitment to excellence, with appropriate communication.
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Must be familiar with operating and servicing small equipment and understand or have familiarity with power and small tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Perform shoveling, sweeping, and monitoring.
• Operate and service small equipment.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment.
• Clean, lubricate, and fuel equipment and perform general site housekeeping.
• Ensure safety fences, markings, and berms are in place.
• Notify a supervisor and/or maintenance of work that needs to be done.
• Perform other related duties as required.
