About The Position

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is hiring a Plant Utilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily operations at either the Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility or Pecos Water Treatment Plant. The position is full-time and salary-exempt. The supervisor sets goals and objectives; manages schedules and work priorities; monitors and evaluates performance; arranges access to resources and training; provides guidance and addresses issues; conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions. The position also monitors the budget, schedules maintenance, inspects work, and plans equipment needs using the citywide Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). The Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Pecos Water Treatment Plant schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Because the plant operates year-round, the supervisor must be available on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The position is subject to a six-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will remain active for four months in case another position becomes available. The Utilities Division operates and maintains the City's water treatment plant, 32 water wells, 19 booster station facilities, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure, and three wastewater facilities, and shares another water plant with the Town of Gilbert. The City treats more than 64 million gallons of fresh water and more than 30 million gallons of wastewater daily, and uses advanced processes to recycle industrial wastewater for reuse.
