About The Position

Plant Technicians are vital to the success of P&G's manufacturing plants, working behind the scenes to keep production flowing, meet performance goals, maintain accurate data and records, and ensure high product quality. The role involves running high-speed converting and packing equipment, controlling processes from a computer terminal, and performing preventive maintenance. P&G hires technicians at an entry level, with opportunities for advancement by demonstrating growing skills in operating, maintenance, and leadership. There are also opportunities to expand expertise into electrical, quality assurance, safety and hygiene, and other areas. The Sacramento P&G Plant operates 7 days a week, and technicians work rotating 12.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, including weekends and potential overtime. Technicians are expected to be willing to rotate and work any shift, with potential changes in shift length or rotation schedule based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes)
  • Willing to work rotating shifts
  • Operating essential material handling equipment at the site e.g., clamp truck, forklift, hand trucks, etc.
  • Using basic hand and power tools
  • Lifting 50 pounds by bending and stooping
  • Climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms
  • Twist, turn and bend
  • Enter confined spaces
  • Standing on concrete floors for an extended period of time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrical and/or mechanical work is preferred but not required.
