About The Position

The Plant Technician role is located in Browns Summit, NC. This position offers the opportunity to gain new skills in running and maintaining advanced production technology and equipment. As a technician, you will be a vital part of the manufacturing plant, working on a team responsible for maintaining production flow, meeting performance goals, and upholding product quality. P&G hires for entry-level positions with opportunities for advancement based on demonstrated skills in operation, maintenance, and leadership. The role also allows for expansion into electrical, quality assurance, safety, and hygiene areas. Technicians are involved in running high-speed production and packing equipment, controlling processes via computer terminals, and performing preventive maintenance. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes)
  • Willing to work a day shift or night shift
  • Able to display skills in manufacturing processes
  • Able to display strong technical, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Use basic hand and power tools
  • Lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders, and platforms; twist, turn and bend
  • Enter confined spaces
  • Stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time

Responsibilities

  • Running high-speed production lines and packing equipment
  • Controlling the process from a computer terminal
  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Operating, maintaining, and cleaning automated equipment
  • Maintaining accurate records and data
  • Operating essential material handling equipment at the site (e.g., clamp truck, forklift, hand trucks, etc.)
