About The Position

The Plant TC Production Planning Analyst plays a strategic role in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of commercial in vitro production within a high‑volume Tissue Culture laboratory. This position is responsible for managing commercial orders for raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, and blackberry programs, supporting an annual production of approximately 6.2 million plants. Through detailed analysis of production data, inventory levels, labor efficiency, and production forecasts, the position ensures alignment between commercial demand, laboratory capacity, and delivery commitments. The Plant TC Production Planning Analyst directly contributes to operational and strategic decision‑making through a data‑driven approach and effective execution of the production plan. This role is on‑site, and candidates are expected to be based in Watsonville or within a reasonable commuting distance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Agribusiness preferably, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years Microsoft Excel
  • Metrics and KPI design
  • Basic statistical analysis
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required

Responsibilities

  • Plan, document, and track in vitro commercial orders for raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, and blackberry programs (foundation, direct‑to‑grower, clone testing, and applied research).
  • Analyze production records based on labor hours worked to determine crop‑specific efficiencies and develop performance metrics.
  • Design, update, and oversee the laboratory’s daily workflow with a minimum four‑week planning horizon.
  • Analyze actual performance versus planned production and participate in operational follow‑up meetings.
  • Monitor actual multiplication and rooting yield rates by variety and clone at the close of each production cycle.
  • Create, track, and close commercial orders within the nursery data management system (Gator Nursery Systems).
  • Generate and validate monthly production reports by technician.
  • Provide accurate and reliable information on actual production, inventory levels, and in vitro material losses.
  • Track and ensure adherence to commercial order delivery schedules across all production programs.
