About The Position

The Plant Supervisor supervises craft employees to ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a single-unit, natural-gas-fired steam unit, with special emphasis on Boiler and Machinery and process safety processes. The role provides supervision and direction to a multi-skilled power plant crew that may include mechanical, electrical, instrument and control, laboratory, environmental, and production personnel. The supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operation and/or maintenance of the generating units while maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Additional responsibilities may include long- and short-term planning, condition-based maintenance, project management, and contractor interface. The position follows a normal day-shift schedule, with on-call responsibilities and expected plant coverage on a seven-day, 24-hour basis. Temporary assignments in other areas of Luminant Power may be required during periods of low plant utilization. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• At least six years of power plant or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of power plant systems.
• Knowledge of operations and/or asset management concepts and practices.

• Provide supervision and direction to a multi-skilled crew, including mechanical, electrical, instrument and control, laboratory, environmental, and/or production personnel.
• Oversee day-to-day operation and/or maintenance of generating units while maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
• Perform or support long- and short-term planning, condition-based maintenance, project management, and contractor interface as needed.
• Be on call and provide plant coverage on a seven-day, 24-hour basis.
• Accept temporary assignments in other areas of Luminant Power during periods of low plant utilization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
