Requirements

  • Over five years of supervisory experience, demonstrating effective leadership within a manufacturing or food/industrial production setting, ideally involving extrusion or continuous-process operations.
  • 3-5 years progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or food/industrial production environment, preferably extrusion or continuous‑process operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily plant operations, work direction, and issue resolution.
  • Lead, coach, and support Production and Packaging Supervisors; provide regular feedback and performance guidance.
  • Coordinate operations across shifts and departments to meet production, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Monitor production processes and product quality; ensure all customer specifications and QA standards are met.
  • Act as a process expert-supporting operators, troubleshooting issues, and correcting inefficiencies.
  • Promote and enforce safety compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of supervisors and operators; play a key role in trainee programs.
  • Work closely with maintenance to ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed and equipment issues are addressed proactively.
  • Oversee operation and setup of extrusion and auxiliary equipment as needed; maintain accurate setup records.
  • Monitor shrink and material usage to ensure losses remain within acceptable standards.
  • Assist with inventory control in production and packaging areas, ensuring FIFO and just‑in‑time practices are followed.
  • Report operational performance, issues, and improvement opportunities to the Plant Manager.
  • Collaborate with leadership on long‑term capacity planning, equipment needs, and policy improvements.
