About The Position

The Plant Production Laborer supports safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations to maximize production and minimize downtime. The role includes daily plant and equipment inspections, maintaining an orderly work area, operating equipment used to crush concrete and remove rebar and debris, and performing plant repairs and maintenance. The laborer also assists with general plant operations and may cross-train to perform other jobs as needed to meet productivity objectives.

This is an outdoor position involving all types of weather, loud and dusty conditions, extended standing, climbing, and manual handling of materials. Overtime and extended hours may be required depending on customer and company demands.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and tolerate loud noises.
• Ability to stand for extended periods at conveyor belt operations.
• Ability to climb heights of 20 feet or higher.
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull 50 pounds.
• Must wear required safety equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, dust masks, gloves, and similar items as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety policies and TCEQ environmental and OSHA safety regulations; inspect the workplace daily and promptly report deficiencies to a supervisor.
• Perform daily maintenance inspections of the plant and equipment to support safe, reliable, compliant operations and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, and monitor the site for safety or maintenance issues.
• Perform lifting, pulling, carrying, and other manual labor to operate equipment that crushes concrete and removes rebar and debris.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment, including changing screens, repairing and adjusting conveyor belts, replacing wear parts, changing crusher liners, and servicing water pumps.
• Assist with plant operations by cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
• Ensure misters remain operable during the workday to minimize dust levels.
• Cross-train and safely perform other jobs as needed to meet productivity objectives.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
