About The Position

The Plant Process Engineer - Automation will be the primary lead for implementing and maintaining Digital Factory systems, working closely with IT/IS teams to ensure peak efficiency. This role involves assisting in installation and programming with suppliers, debugging, troubleshooting, maintaining, and modifying automated equipment. The engineer will select appropriate tools and systems based on business needs, formalize connections between MES/traceability systems and automation equipment, and participate in impact analyses for MES related to new projects, flows, and FMEA updates. A key responsibility is ensuring PLC integration for MES go-live according to the E&L plant deployment plan. The role also includes developing and implementing training programs with full documentation, defining test plans, designing and controlling software testing, and participating in software testing. Integrating new solutions into OP's existing system, providing clear reports on process modifications/implementations, improving production throughput by refining PLC logic, implementing AI software for defect detection, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring 100% compliance with safety standards are also core duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field of study and 5 (five) years of experience as a PLC Programmer, Expert PLC, Control Engineer, or related role
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field of study and 3 (three) years of experience as a PLC Programmer, Expert PLC, Control Engineer, or related role
  • PLC/HMI configuration and programing (such as Siemens)
  • PLC maintenance
  • Assembly paint and injection manufacturing for plastics/composites
  • SCADA system and industrial IT
  • Hands-on robotics
  • Network concepts and protocols
  • MES and Information flows
  • OPC server/middleware

Responsibilities

  • Primary lead for implementing and maintenance of Digital Factory systems
  • Work closely with IT/IS teams to ensure systems are operating at peak efficiency
  • Assist in installation and programming with supplier
  • Debug, troubleshoot, maintain and modify auto equipment
  • Select the right tools and systems according to business needs
  • Formalize connection between MES/traceability system and automation equipment
  • Participate to impacts analysis on MES: new projects, new flows, and update of FMEA
  • Ensure PLC Integration for MES go live according to E&L plant deployment plan
  • Develop, coordinate and implement training programs with full documentation, based on procedures and solution documents and user’s guide
  • Define test plans and create documentation

  • Improve production throughput by refining PLC logic to reduce cycle time

  • Achieve 100% compliance with all automated equipment by adhering and applying ISO & OSHA safety standards
