About The Position

Citizens Energy Group is hiring a Plant Operator to safely, reliably, and efficiently operate chilled water plants and systems. The role also involves performing and recording routine equipment maintenance, conducting water chemistry tests, and completing other tasks assigned by Shift Coordinators and the Operations Supervisor. The position is located at 350 S West Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46225.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Indiana driver’s license.
Mechanical aptitude.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Basic computer skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating or maintaining chillers, boilers, or similar utility plants.
Military or technical training in HVAC or a related field.
Experience and proficiency operating a fork truck.
HAZWOPER training.

Responsibilities

Monitor the process control system and travel to satellite facilities to support safe, reliable, and efficient chiller plant operations, including electric- and steam-driven chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air compressors, water treatment, fire and security systems, and electrical distribution.
Perform routine preventative maintenance.
Complete general housekeeping duties throughout all facilities.
Receive materials and supplies.
Participate in training and learning events to expand working knowledge of plant systems.
Administer the Lockout-Tagout system for all chilled water plants.
Perform water chemistry tests and maintain records of routine equipment maintenance.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
