About The Position

Chalfont Quarry, a division of H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Plant Operator to support the smooth operation of plant equipment. The role involves following safety and operating procedures, performing routine inspections and checks, maintaining a clean work area, supporting production schedules, and communicating maintenance or production concerns to the superintendent. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, safety-focused, and works well with a team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, or one month of related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated and organized.
• Safety-focused.
• Ability to fit test and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including movement and lifting as relevant.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more months of related experience and/or training.
• Experience with equipment maintenance.
• Experience with heavy equipment, especially a Q329 Caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher.
• MSHA or other relevant safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K safety policies.
• Know and follow company start and stop procedures.
• Perform daily greasing and oil checks on crushers and screens.
• Keep walkways clear of debris and report spillage issues to the superintendent.
• Perform daily guarding inspections and plant checks, and report maintenance issues to the superintendent.
• Inspect screen media to ensure it is in proper condition for maximum production.
• Keep the operating booth clean and free from inappropriate materials.
• Carry out duties and work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Suggest changes to working conditions and equipment use to increase quarry operations and crew efficiency.
• Assist workers in solving production problems when needed or required.
• Complete necessary paperwork daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
