About The Position
Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator in Charleston, South Carolina, to support safe and efficient operation of its industrial gas production facility. The role includes filling cylinders and maintaining quality standards while supporting a steady supply of industrial gases. The operator cares for production equipment, contributes to routine inspections and maintenance, safely handles and transports cylinders, completes accurate operational records, and follows safety protocols. The position also involves working collaboratively with the team in meetings and safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following safety protocols.
- Comfort operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Flexibility to work shifts and occasional extra hours as needed.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
- Technical certification in industrial operations.
- Industrial gas experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate and care for production equipment, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
- Contribute to routine equipment inspections and maintenance, and communicate identified needs promptly.
- Safely handle, fill, transport, and quality-check cylinders in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in collaborative team meetings and safety initiatives.
