About The Position

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is hiring a Plant Operator at its medical waste treatment facility in Taylor, Michigan. The role involves receiving and checking containers and paperwork, moving and unloading waste containers, weighing incoming sharps and medical waste, and using a forklift to load an autoclave. Operators also load a Washsmart container-washing and sanitization system and complete the paperwork needed to process containers. The position requires repetitive lifting, pushing and pulling, prolonged standing, and working in personal protective equipment (PPE). This is a permanent, full-time position for 40 hours per week on the Monday-to-Friday third shift, 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The stated pay rate is $21.00 per hour and is non-negotiable. Overtime opportunities are available. Full-time roles include benefits, sick leave, and vacation leave from day one.

Requirements

Previous experience in a labor-intensive warehouse job, including repetitive lifting of 50- to 75-pound containers.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and occasionally lift 50 to 75 pounds.
Ability to push or pull 100 to 250 pounds, as applicable to the role.
Basic math skills and ability to read and record weights accurately.
Familiarity with weighbridge or scale systems.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
Comfort standing for extended periods and working in PPE.
Willingness to complete a five-panel urine drug screen and a seven-year background check.
Proven longevity with employers.
Can-do attitude.
