About The Position

The Plant Operator is responsible for operating machinery and performing general labor such as plant clean-up. This role involves operating controls for the production process, utilizing PLC systems, and communicating with shift leads and the Production Superintendent regarding process malfunctions or irregularities. The operator will also ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance program, assist with plant maintenance, and perform various assigned tasks. This job is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities and is subject to change based on the employer's needs and job requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One (1) - two (2) years general experience performing manual labor tasks such as lifting and moving materials, loading, and unloading trucks, digging, and filling holes, light mechanical, and light equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, using both written and spoken forms of communication.
• Able to read, speak and write English.
• Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. or more.
• Must work independently and as a member of a team.

• Ability to follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner with or without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate controls used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Perform general labor such as plant clean-up.
• Operate plant equipment utilizing PLC systems.
• Communicate with shift leads and Production Superintendent as to any process malfunctions or irregularities.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance program and testing processes as required by the QA program and procedures.
• Assist with plant maintenance and inspect for high wear and potential problems.
• Assist maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs such as greasing, changing rollers, bearings, and belt splices.
• Perform tasks such as cleaning spilled sand, training belts, changing screens, and maintaining polymer batching systems.
• Perform other related duties as required.
