About The Position

The purpose of this position is to safely operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants; ensure compliance with permits; regulate process controls; and maintain plant efficiency for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by collecting samples; performing analysis on water/wastewater samples for process monitoring and reportable analysis; monitoring plant operations; adjusting plant valves, flows, and return rates; adjusting chemical dosages as needed; running various analytical tests; calibrating and maintaining lab and equipment; operating the sludge press and conventional areas of the plant; entering data from lab analysis; and possibly conducting local laboratory testing. Other responsibilities include performing general and preventative plant maintenance; ensuring discharged water is good quality; ordering supplies and chemicals for treatment; properly maintaining buildings and grounds; maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment; and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience or equivalent combination of education
  • Valid Texas Class C Drivers License and Good Driving Record
  • Class D Waste Water License required within six months of employment
  • Class C Waste Water License required within one year of employment
  • Approved Hazmat training is required within six months of employment
