About The Position

The Plant Manager supports and resolves plant priorities within the plant on a day to day basis and is the main point of contact for the location. This position guides and supports all activities of our associates engaged in middle management roles, administrative, production, distribution, driving and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders. Ensures work procedures are met for production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment. Collaborates on the financial budget for the location, while ensuring the plant remains aligned with the annual budget goals set forth on a monthly basis. Committed to the adherence of company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment. Ensure all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported within 24 hours. Participates and completes SHIELD training as required. Ensures safety rules are consistently championed and safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted and documented. Operates and safely maintains equipment for distribution, pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Takes pride in ensuring the plant is kept neat, clean and orderly. Reviews production and distribution schedules and estimates team requirements for successful completion of job assignments. Coordinates team schedules and approves overtime in the timekeeping system. We look for a leader to maintain hours within the established budget, fostering attendance aligned with Airgas policy and approving time off that is consistent and equitable for the team and department. Empowers and mentors all levels of associates in the plant including; positive motivation and performance growth, coaching, providing regular feedback, communication of shared goals, leading regular team meetings and calls. Attracts, retains and develops a diverse team within your plant to achieve positive results. Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless follow through of customer service goals and contributions. Provides coaching and supportive corrective action promptly, to ensure that all associates are mentored toward success, documented, and improved to acceptable performance, or transitioned. Welcomes and trains new employees and cross-trains associates to continue production during personnel shortages. Supports associates at branches on scheduled delivery and automated branch replenishments of min/max cylinder requirements. Facilitates appropriate training to plant and branch personnel to ensure adequate and consistent production levels are meeting customer demands. Requirements

Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
At least 3-5 years’ experience in production planning, DOT, FDA, SMS, and cylinder maintenance.
Experience and working knowledge of cylinder fill operations.
Familiar with Hydro-testing procedures and record keeping if applicable for the plant.
Must be able to perform the duties of each position within the operations facility.
Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Business Degree recommended.
Experience using SAP or similar software systems is recommended.
