About The Position

A manufacturing company in Northern Iowa is seeking a Senior Plant Manager / Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager / Operations Manager to run a metals machining and assembly operation of 100 people. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC and manual machining, metal products assembly, parts making, machinery, fabricating equipment, or materials handling systems. This role is located in a small town in northern Iowa, and relocation is encouraged. The position requires maintaining a safety-first culture, improving efficiencies in quality control and on-time shipments, and overseeing a production organization that prioritizes worker safety and cost control. The role involves making decisions about operating and capital budgets (P&L), leading teams in production, supply chain, and facility maintenance, and improving plant profitability. The manager will also develop quality and safety initiatives and drive cost reduction through Lean Manufacturing practices and plant layout.

Requirements

• Experience in production and plant management for a company that makes steel parts and assemblies
• At least ten years’ experience, including four in a supervisory role involving budgets
• Familiar with lean manufacturing and six sigma
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
• Experience managing skilled machine operators, machinists, and assembly workers
• Good experience with plant budgets and managing production levels
• Excellent safety record
• Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with CNC machining is a plus but not required
