About The Position

This position is responsible for daily operations and management of our processing facilities and warehouses. The Plant Manager will drive operational excellence, oversee plant activities to ensure the Company is meeting required processing commitments, and review production schedules with facility superintendents and plant coordinator. This role also involves maintaining and managing offsite grain storage locations and inventory, monitoring and ensuring compliance with production standards, and implementing systems to control operating expenses across all facility operations. The Plant Manager will implement best practices regarding process flow, food safety, quality, safety, and overall efficiency, ensuring plant processes result in accurate real-time inventory. Additionally, this role manages staff, determines requirements and efficiencies, provides a recruiting forecast, and owns retention planning and performance management of the facility’s team members. The Plant Manager will also assess, recommend, and manage capital expenditures to improve plant productivity, maintain plant facilities, and recommend technology/automation to increase efficiencies, reduce labor costs, and increase plant uptime. This role acts as the primary point person for third-party vendors and contractors, cultivates a culture of safety, and ensures product quality is within specification and compliant with overall quality and food safety standards. The Plant Manager will oversee and hold teams accountable for successful implementation and adherence of food safety programs and processes within the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations or related field or seven+ years of related plant or grain operations experience
  • Three+ years of management experience
  • General knowledge of food quality standards and overall safety procedures
  • Proven ability to lead through change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Ability to react quickly and accommodate change

Responsibilities
