About The Position

The successful candidate, under the direction of the Associate Director, Manufacturing, is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance, and employee relations for the assigned crew in this non-union facility. The job requires efficient use of resources (labor, materials, and equipment) to manufacture quality products at the lowest possible cost. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of hourly employees on the assigned crew. The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for the assigned crew.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business, science or engineering required
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Leadership – setting expectations and gaining trust
  • Communication - listening, giving clear instructions and preparing reports / presentations
  • Interpersonal - ability to motivate direct reports and hold them accountable against expectations
  • Computer – proficient in MS Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 2-3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Teach and lead the safety process for assigned crew to prevent injuring employees.
  • Manage production and quality to meet customer demands while minimizing overtime and inventory.
  • Meet performance metric expectations using methods such as; 5S, 6 Sigma, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provide direction, training and development as well as counseling or discipline as needed.
