About The Position

Closet Factory Bay Area is the largest custom storage company in the region, with a focused in-house woodworking shop that builds every job they install. This role involves leading and managing the production team and operations within the woodworking shop.

Requirements

3+ years managing a production team in cabinetry, millwork, closets, furniture, or another wood products shop.
Hands-on knowledge of cabinet construction, CNC/panel processing, edgebanding, finishing, and assembly.
A track record of leveling up a small team, building accountability without losing good people.
Comfortable using production reports and KPIs to run the floor.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Strong communicator who works well with peers in other departments and with ownership.

Experience with production/ERP scheduling software.

Responsibilities

Lead, schedule, coach, and hold accountable a small, experienced crew, including senior craftspeople.
Set clear expectations, run daily huddles, and build a shop where people know what's expected and want to show up.
Ensure every job is complete, correct, and on time for installation.
Build and enforce processes for production scheduling, material flow, quality checkpoints, maintenance, safety, and cleanliness.
Create new processes where they don't exist and fix existing processes that are not followed.
Own shop labor efficiency, material yield, and cost control.
Track, report, and drive down shop labor efficiency, material yield, and cost control.
Act as the shop's representative in interactions with Sales, Design, Installation, and Purchasing.
Plan capacity, equipment, and staffing as the company adds crews.
