About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee all operational activities at our Buttonwillow facility, including production, logistics, safety, quality, and human resources, in a manufacturing environment that includes extraction, arils manufacturing, cold/frozen storage, and spring arils operations. The Plant Manager will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager, Reliability Manager, Operations Supervisors, Quality Supervisors, Shipping Supervisors, and administrative teams to develop operational plans, establish performance targets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant workplace, maintaining the highest standards of product quality, optimizing operational efficiency, and managing costs effectively to support overall business objectives.

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible Production experience in a plant manager capacity, with a specific emphasis in manufacturing within a food production/manufacturing setting.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for entire facility performance and deliver on all P&L-related KPIs.
  • Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, and production costs.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing cross-functional team of Managers, Supervisors, Leads, specialists, and hourly employees to support the growing demand of the facility.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by supporting all company safety programs, actively participating in weekly safety tailgates, administering discipline as necessary, and following all governmental regulations.
  • Build a culture around a continuous improvement mindset, positive work attitude, efficient communication, and a can-do attitude through all layers of the facility.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
  • Perform all necessary financial functions, including capital, budgeting, and asset effectiveness.
  • Ensure that personnel training occurs in order to maintain an experienced and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Comply with all OSHA, FDA, USDA, GMP, EPA, HACCP, and POM policies and regulations.
  • Perform all necessary administrative duties: personnel evaluations, correspondence, reports.
  • Monitor plant sanitation on a continuous basis.
  • Effectively communicate plant performance in a timely manner with senior leadership and facilitate effective communication at all levels across the Buttonwillow facility.
  • Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Manage personnel effectively while maintaining employee morale and adhering to state and federal laws and other applicable regulations.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
