About The Position

We are a publicly traded company on the NYSE with the ticker symbol KNF and part of the S&P MidCap 400 index. This position is responsible to assist in quarry operations. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 4:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Saturday as needed during production and Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM during maintenance season. Schedule may vary due to weather and customer demand.

Requirements

• Less than high school education, or Up to one month related experience or training, or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post operational inspections and document the conditions accurately and legibly.
• Inspect, adjust, modify and repair equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, specifically, MSHA and Knife River standards.
• Report and correct any unsafe or failing conditions immediately.
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees and supervisors.
• Inspect, adjust, modify, lubricate and repair plant equipment daily to minimize break downs.
• Ability to identify and properly utilize various hand tools.
• Ability to obtain accurate measurements using a tape measure.
• Monitor plant equipment, conveyors, screen media, wear liners, etc. and notify plant operator or supervisor of any deficiencies or needed repairs.
• Ability to climb ladders, inclined catwalks and stairs.
• Perform repairs while working at heights and in small spaces.
• Perform repairs in varying weather and light conditions.
• Ability and willingness to work long hours during the production season.
• Perform clean up duties around various equipment using shovels and high pressure water hoses.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
