The Plant Maintenance Mechanic performs preventive maintenance checks and routine service on equipment. Employees must follow all safety and quality rules and processes to support a safe working environment and produce high-quality products. The position is listed for first and third shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required by the preventive maintenance program.
Perform scheduled maintenance, including changing oil and filters; greasing rolling stock, production equipment, and electrical motor bearings; changing fuel and air filters; and inspecting coolant antifreeze, power steering fluid, transmission oil, rear-end oil, and gear-case oil levels.
Perform daily maintenance checks on equipment as it becomes available each workday.
During daily checks, inspect oil and coolant levels, air filters, batteries, and tire pressures; grease rollers, drive chains, and feed screws; and check power steering and hydraulic fluid levels.
Drain and clean air tanks and inspect air lines.
Document readings from metered equipment on daily checklists.
Follow safety and quality rules and processes.
