About The Position

This position supports the operation and maintenance of the plant through the development of knowledge of all aspects of plant operation and maintenance. This position will also develop, implement and manage projects as well as provide support for plant outages. This position will also develop skills in plant support systems. This position will support other managers and Operator/Technicians. This position will receive guidance from other members of management but must be a self-starter, have the ability to self-direct and self-motivate, and perform duties with minimal support.

Requirements

  • Broader knowledge of theory and principles within a professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices.
  • Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree from ABET accredited college.
  • 1-3 years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support plant efforts in driving toward Liberty's Triple Zero target by participating in weekly plant safety meetings and learning and supporting plant safety plans and processes.
  • Perform Safety Observations to ensure that plant safety plans and processes are followed.
  • Support short- and long-term strategies for improving safety.
  • Lead programs within multi-year safety training program as directed.
  • Develop understanding of plant function and operation, specifically operational systems, equipment and their integration.
  • Develop understanding of plant maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Participate in On the Job Training program, Energy Supply Operator Training program, and train with experienced Operator/Technicians and Managers.
  • Continue training outside of above programs.
  • Support Operator/Technicians and other Managers in the operation and maintenance of the Riverton Plant and be able to provide weekend support.
  • Be available for 24/7 support of operations and maintenance.
  • Provide support for O&M budget.
  • Support purchasing, by investigating and specifying equipment and parts as directed by other managers.
  • Develop, implement, and manage projects of less than $50,000.
  • This includes developing work packages and bid documents, schedules, getting and evaluating bids, awarding contracts, and managing all aspects of contracts, including budget and schedule.
  • Provide support for larger projects.
  • Support development of Capital Budget.
  • Support outage planning and implementation.
  • Manage 3 to 5 outage items which have a 3 to 5-person work crew with a duration of 2 to 4 days.
  • Support other larger scope outage items, including contractor as well as self-performed.
  • Develop basic skills in systems which support operation and maintenance of plant. These systems include, but are not limited to, Plant Distributed Control System, Maintenance Management System, Continuous Emissions Monitoring System, Corporate Financial Management System, etc.
