Plant Controller – Manufacturing. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Five or more years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- ERP system experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong critical thinker comfortable in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing organization.
- Able to manage priorities across finance, operations, and customer requirements.
- Effective communicator who works well with cross-functional teams and plant management.
- Hands-on and engaged with plant-floor operations.
Responsibilities
- Run plant accounting and cost accounting processes across multiple cost centers.
- Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial accuracy.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operating plans.
- Maintain standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Review labor, materials, overhead, distribution, and inventory variances.
- Participate in production and operations meetings.
- Support internal controls, audit readiness, and asset protection.
- Partner with operations to improve manufacturing performance.
- Supervise front office administrative and accounting activities.
