Plant Controller

Responsible for the performance of all accounting, reporting, cycle counting, SOX compliance, and financial planning & analysis activities. Work with management to identify and implement RCI opportunities to improve plant financial performance. Manage payroll activities to ensure proper payment of wages, adherence to all policies. Manage a staff of 2 to 8 employees.
Requirements
- B.S. or B.A. undergraduate degree required with a finance and/or accounting specialization.
- 5 to 7 years work practical financial work experience required
- Computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office software.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of general accounting, cost accounting, purchasing, and payroll policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated skills in operation planning and cost reduction.
- A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of a standard cost system and the corresponding budgeting process.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills. Proficient in verbal and written communications.
- Individual characteristics should include: hard working, team oriented, flexible, and organized

Responsibilities
- Ensure all daily accounting operations are running properly
- Close financial month timely and accurately
- Provide clear and accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly plant financial performance reporting
- Ensure financial account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely
- Present balance sheet and account reconciliations during quarterly accounting reviews
- Ensure SOX compliance throughout plant organization
- Run inventory cycle count program to ensure compliance with accuracy and completeness requirements
- Perform both formalized and adhoc financial analysis to support the business
- Work with management to identify, implement, and track RCI opportunities to improve plant financial performance
- Develop and track adherence to annual, quarterly, and monthly financial forecasts
- Direct payroll activities to ensure proper calculation of wages, deductions & taxes, including the timely distribution of payroll checks/advises. Ensure adherence to contractual agreements and payroll policies.
- Ensure the integrity of product standard costs. Update as required by company guidance.
- Direct any special assignments required to enhance plant performance.
