About The Position

DuraServ is looking for a Plant Controller who owns the full accounting function for manufacturing, distribution, and emerging businesses. This role requires financial acumen to lead, credibility to influence, and uncompromising standards. As Plant Controller, you will own the full accounting function across manufacturing and distribution operations, including general accounting, inventory management, standard costing, variance analysis, financial close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination. You will lead a team, partner with operations leadership, and serve as the financial voice in decision-making processes that shape profitability. This is a leadership role focused on building financial infrastructure for a scaling enterprise and leading a team to execute with accuracy and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing financial operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel for financial modeling and variance analysis.
  • Experience managing a financial close process and delivering accurate, timely monthly financial statements.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry accounting experience — standard costing, WIP, production variances, and inventory reserves in a plant environment.
  • ERP system experience with direct involvement in an ERP implementation or optimization initiative.
  • Experience partnering with operations leadership as a strategic financial advisor, not just a reporting function.
  • Background in distribution or multi-entity accounting environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all direct accounting functions including general accounting, inventory, and financial analysis (standard costing, production variances, material usage, margin analysis).
  • Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close process.
  • Develop financial forecasts, measure actual performance against plans and budgets, and identify key drivers behind variances.
  • Analyze and interpret financial results, translating complex data into narratives that inform business decisions for both financial and operational audiences.
  • Maintain and lead all inventory processes (cycle counts, physical inventory, reserves, obsolescence, WIP, and reconciliations).
  • Partner with business unit leaders to support strategic decision-making, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and advise on process improvements.
  • Track and report operational KPIs alongside financial results.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for internal and external auditors, taxing authorities, and legal entities.
  • Lead the accounting team, managing hiring, workload allocation, performance management, training, and development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain documented accounting policies and procedures with a robust system of internal controls.
  • Drive ERP optimization and implementation efforts, ensuring accounting systems support operational scale and financial reporting requirements.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and leadership scope.
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match.
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability.
