About The Position

This position is responsible for providing accounting support and financial analysis for the IN/MI manufacturing facilities. The role involves managing the monthly financial close, preparing annual budgets and variance analysis, calculating overhead rates using ABC costing, leading the annual physical inventory project, and preparing job profitability reports. The Plant Controller will also provide analysis and support to the General Manager and leadership team by identifying opportunities for improvement, monitoring aged inventory and fixed assets, and supporting the Division Controller’s Office with financial analysis and reporting. Additionally, the role includes documenting accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-7 years previous demonstrated experience as Plant Controller or Senior Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
  • Progressively increasing responsibility in accounting, standard costing, job order reporting, variance analysis, ABC (activity based costing), inventories, account reconciliations, and audit preparation/assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the monthly financial close for the IN/MI manufacturing facilities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Prepare the Annual Budget for the IN/MI manufacturing facilities and conduct monthly analysis of variances to the budget.
  • Calculate overhead rates using ABC costing for the manufacturing facilities.
  • Serve as Project Leader for the annual physical inventory.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute a timely and accurate monthly job profitability report for the Elkhart facility.
  • Provide analysis and support to the General Manager and Elkhart leadership team by identifying areas of opportunity for improvement, such as reducing warranty expense, improving margins, and enhancing processes.
  • Monitor and report on Aged Inventory and Fixed Assets.
  • Support the Division Controller’s Office by performing assigned duties, including financial analysis and reporting for quarterly reviews.
  • Document all accounting processes and procedures as assigned.
