About The Position

The Plant Controller is responsible for financial management, cost accounting, and general accounting activities for assigned manufacturing plants within the Americas region. The role ensures compliance with US GAAP and SOX 404 controls while providing financial leadership and insight to plant management. This position serves as a key business partner to operations, translating financial data into actionable insights to support decision-making, operational performance, and continuous improvement within the plants. Cost Accounting & Inventory Management Perform all cost accounting activities for assigned Americas manufacturing plants. Manage annual standard cost updates, including labor and overhead rate reviews and revaluations. Execute SAP Material Ledger / Actual Costing runs and support product cost roll processes. Support material master costing setup and maintenance. Analyze and manage inventory valuation, including slow-moving inventory, FIFO valuation, and LCM reserve calculations. Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, overhead, and production variances. General Accounting Manage all general accounting activities for assigned plants. Prepare and post monthly and quarterly journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for plant-related accounts. Support quarter-end SOX testing and year-end audit activities. Financial Analysis & Business Partnership Partner with plant management and operations teams to review financial performance. Prepare and present monthly and weekly P&L analysis and operational financial metrics. Analyze manufacturing performance and explain plant variances and financial results. Support forecasting and financial planning activities for assigned plants. Other Responsibilities Support the execution of annual physical inventories. Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by the Regional Controller. Social Responsibilities Maintain compliance with Company Code of Business Conduct, policies, and management systems. Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Company Values and Culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 – 7 years of experience in, General ledger and cost accounting.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or Business required.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to partner with operations and communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective internal controls.
  • Self-motivated with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Willing to travel as needed (10%-20%) primarily in the USA to various company locations.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
  • A growth mindset asking how process's can be improved and decisions improved based on their understanding of the Plants.
