About The Position

The Plant Controller is the financial partner to the Plant Manager and facility leadership team. This role owns plant-level financial performance — connecting day-to-day operational activity to financial results — and manages all accounting functions for the facility including AP, invoicing, supplier settlements, and month-end close.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 3–7 years of accounting, finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing operations
  • Manufacturing, metals, recycling, foundry, or industrial environment
  • Strong Excel, ERP, and reporting systems; cost accounting and inventory transactions are a plus
  • Self-starter that takes initiative with a high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and explain key metrics: Gross Margin $/lb, Cost $/lb, throughput, yield, labor efficiency, and purchasing performance
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve plant profitability
  • Develop and distribute weekly and monthly KPI reporting
  • Partner with Plant Manager and department leaders on operational decisions and financial impact
  • Maintain responsibility for the facility's fixed asset records, ensuring all equipment and other capital assets are accurately tracked, properly documented, and kept current in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor budget-to-actual performance and escalate significant variances
  • Review purchasing activity and coding through Procurify
  • Support department leaders with forecasting and budget planning
  • Own accounts payable, customer invoicing, supplier settlements, and accounts receivable
  • Maintain account reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Support month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison between the facility and Corporate Controller.
  • Collaborate to ensure accurate, timely, and complete financial information is communicated for reporting, analysis, budgeting, and financial statement consolidation.
  • Translate operational performance into clear financial information for non-financial leaders
  • Participate in continuous improvement and future ERP implementation efforts
  • Follow 5S foundations for lean production processes
