About The Position

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Production Control Plant Clerk to accurately process daily production data and manage inventory transactions within the company’s ERP system. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate entry of manufacturing labor, materials, and inventory information to support operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and supply chain integrity in a pipe manufacturing environment. The position is based in Rialto, California, and offers a pay range of $20.00-$28.00.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, inventory control, or data entry.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP system (e.g., IFS, SAP ERP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory control principles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Pipe or metal fabrication industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter daily production data into the ERP system, including pipe runs, labor usage, material usage, scrap, and finished goods quantities.
  • Verify accuracy of production reports against shop floor documentation.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between physical production and system records.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Assist supervisors with production tracking and performance metrics.
  • Support material receipts, transfers, shipments and inventory adjustments in the ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate raw material, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods inventory records.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and shipping teams to ensure proper material flow and documentation.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded within established deadlines.
  • Maintain item master data accuracy (as assigned).
  • Support month-end closing processes related to production and inventory.
  • Assist with ERP troubleshooting and communicate system issues to IT or management.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical production records.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Support cross-functional communication between production, warehouse, purchasing, shipping and accounting teams.
