About The Position

Performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, technical, and professional work in the current planning and zoning as well as the long-range planning programs related to the development and implementation of land use and related municipal plans and policies. Position also focuses on managing, coaching, and developing other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization’s business strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning or related field.
• Four (4) or more years planning and zoning experience.
• At least three years of supervisory or management experience.
• National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation as a certified planner.
• Must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree preferred.

Benefits

• Sign-on bonus of $8,000.00 ($4,000.00 after successful completion of the initial 90-day probationary period and $4,000.00 after obtaining a satisfactory rating on the first annual performance evaluation).
