How Will You Make an Impact? As a Planning Supervisor at our Memphis, TN facility, you will lead and develop the planning team within the workcell to ensure execution of effective production planning strategies. You will drive operational performance, improve planning processes, and ensure alignment between customer demand, materials, and production capacity. Your leadership will directly impact on‑time delivery, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction. Location: On‑site at our Memphis, TN facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of planning experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems and planning processes.
  • Understanding of component lead times, manufacturing run rates, and production flow.
  • Knowledge of test development, programming timelines, and overall build sequencing.
  • Ability to manage complex planning scenarios across materials, capacity, and scheduling.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, and hire planning personnel.
  • Partner with recruiting teams to define candidate criteria.
  • Monitor team member turnover and implement improvement actions.
  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs.
  • Create and validate training curriculum for planning functions.
  • Establish measurable goals aligned with operational and organizational objectives.
  • Solicit feedback from Workcell teams, Business Unit Managers (BUMs), and Planning Managers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement in individual and team performance metrics.
  • Lead teams through high-pressure situations and ensure focus on priorities.
  • Ensure fair and consistent recognition and rewards practices.
  • Facilitate regular team communication forums.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Encourage feedback and collaboration within the team.
  • Adapt communication styles to meet team needs.
  • Support development and execution of planning strategies and initiatives.
  • Ensure workcell alignment with planning strategies and customer requirements.
  • Support customer needs using standard processes and customized solutions when necessary.
  • Drive efforts to reduce overall material costs and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure 100% on‑time delivery and establish strong build readiness practices.
  • Maintain accurate capacity planning, customer sizing, and revenue forecasting.
  • Oversee material control and liability management.
  • Develop and maintain Master Production Schedule (MPS) within the ERP system, including PO coverage.
  • Reconcile MPS with customer PO coverage weekly to mitigate financial and material risk.
  • Ensure MPS accuracy and achieve target performance levels (95%+).
  • Own production planning processes, including BOM and document control, with or without additional support.
  • Analyze material and capacity constraints and communicate risks to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and optimize capacity planning models to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Lead daily meetings with Workcell and manufacturing teams to review schedules, adjust plans, and optimize production.
  • Maintain customer contracts and ensure adherence to terms related to material liability and planning commitments.
  • Serve as the workcell expert on planning activities, ensuring builds only begin with valid demand, sufficient materials, and accurate documentation.
  • Lead development of Bills of Material (BOMs) and routings for accurate WIP tracking and inventory transactions.
  • Manage End‑of‑Life (EOL) processes, including planning and execution strategies.
  • Own the build schedule, shipment timelines, and resolution of schedule misalignment.
  • Manage internal purge processes and excess inventory mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations.
  • Comply with all company security policies and procedures.
