About The Position

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking a professional with excellent leadership qualities and strong planning skills to join their team. This exempt position supports the Regional District’s current and long-range planning operations within the Development Services Division, focusing on customer service and development applications processes. The role involves administrative, technical, and management capacities, including supervision of staff, programs, and services, and acting as a liaison between the Land Use Services Department, other CVRD divisions, and external agencies. The CVRD is located on Vancouver Island and offers a desirable lifestyle with numerous recreational and cultural opportunities.

Requirements

University graduation in a related field plus a graduate degree in Community and Regional Planning or related field
Full membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and Planning Institute of BC
Registered Professional Planner Certification
A minimum of five years of related experience, preferably in a BC local government setting
A minimum of two (2) years of experience with staff mentoring, supervision, training and performance management
A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
A recent driver's abstract

Nice To Haves

IAP2 certification is considered an asset
PMP designation is considered an asset

Responsibilities
