About The Position

The Department of Planning and Development is seeking a Communications Intern for the Fall 2026 Semester. This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Branding, and Advertising within a city government agency focused on community development and neighborhood planning. The role involves supporting various communication functions and assisting with event planning.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate level studies program in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Public Affairs, or Public Relations.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Editing and proofing skills.
  • Creativity.
  • Ability to attend public and press events.
  • Must be a city of Philadelphia resident within six months of hire.
