Planning Analytics Associate
About The Position
The Associate, Demand Planner maintains sales forecasts for Macy’s stores and Macys.com replenishment businesses, focusing on improving forecast accuracy to maximize sales, inventory efficiency, and profitability. The role collaborates with Inventory Management, Inventory Support, and Supply Planning teams to optimize system usage and enhance inventory performance. The Associate also contributes to developing reports and tools by gathering requirements from Inventory Management, Merchants, and Supply Chain partners. The role creates tools and processes to automate and streamline replenishment tasks and conducts ad hoc analysis and data extractions to support team strategies and company initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of related experience.
- Experience with Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) or similar forecasting software for demand planning.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with SQL programming and business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge, including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and VBA coding for automation.
- Ability to develop tools and processes that enhance efficiency and streamline replenishment tasks.
- Experience collaborating across teams, including Inventory Management, Merchandising, and Supply Chain.
- Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and work with technology teams to resolve system defects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey insights, influence stakeholders, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to perform essential job functions involving communication, collaboration, use of office and computer systems, access to written and electronic information, and movement within the work environment to interact with workplace materials.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate forecasts for all actively replenished items.
- Optimize forecast models in Blue Yonder by adjusting demand-based system parameters.
- Provide strategic guidance at the FOB, department, and individual PID levels.
- Develop ad hoc analyses and reports to support replenishment strategies.
- Establish reporting guidelines and best practices to improve accuracy and automation.
- Assist in creating tools and processes to enhance replenishment efficiency.
- Collaborate with Macy’s Technology team to report and resolve system defects.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
