About The Position

The Planner is responsible for maintaining raw material and finished goods inventory based on customer forecasted demand, and for scheduling production efficiently and effectively to meet customer demand for all finished goods items.

Requirements

  • Three to five years' experience in planning and purchasing.
  • Knowledge gained through on the job training of company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Skill in multitasking and time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments.
  • Ability to keep company and customer information confidential.
  • Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense.

Responsibilities

  • Manipulate customer forecasts into Truvant planning tools to determine raw material and production needs.
  • Order supplies to accommodate customer guidelines, ensuring inventory quantities do not exceed contract guidelines or cause excessive carrying costs.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Production Manager to communicate upcoming needs for specific product lines, special builds, or seasonal builds requiring increased labor.
  • Ensure all production orders are sent to the Production Manager or Production Supervisor with sufficient lead time for efficient scheduling and to meet customer dates. Production orders should not be sent to the production floor until supplies are available, unless clearly noted with a due date.
  • Offer ideas or suggestions for process improvements regarding planning and purchasing.
  • Serve as a key point of customer service, greeting customers politely, considerately, helpfully, and knowledgeably.
  • Undertake projects and other duties as assigned.
