About The Position

At the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, we deliver reliable water to a region with 19 million people. There is currently one (1) opening for the Planner/Scheduler at Diamond Valley Lake. This recruitment may result in an eligibility list. This is a journey-level role responsible for coordinating maintenance planning and scheduling activities for the Lake Skinner and Diamond Valley Lake Conveyance and Distribution teams. It involves coordinating and monitoring corrective maintenance work orders, ensuring issues are addressed efficiently and effectively. The role also collaborates with internal teams and external contractors, organizing resources, timelines, and materials needed to complete assigned work. Additionally, it engages with Team Managers to assist with planning and execution of around the clock work done during pipeline shutdowns, ensuring projects and maintenance activities are completed safely, on time, and with minimal disruption to operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or certificate of High School equivalency.
  • Five years journey-level experience in a relevant trade or craft (work experience in a Public Utility such as Water Department, Conveyance & Distribution, Treatment Plant, Sewer, Gas, Electric, Oil, etc.).
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating maintenance planning and scheduling activities for the Lake Skinner and Diamond Valley Lake Conveyance and Distribution teams.
  • Coordinating and monitoring corrective maintenance work orders, ensuring issues are addressed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external contractors, organizing resources, timelines, and materials needed to complete assigned work.
  • Engaging with Team Managers to assist with planning and execution of around the clock work done during pipeline shutdowns.
  • Ensuring projects and maintenance activities are completed safely, on time, and with minimal disruption to operations.
