About The Position

This position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all low priority regular and special maintenance including capital projects within their assigned areas of responsibility. This function is designed to improve the efficiency of the plant maintenance and construction through the pre-determination of manpower, material, time, tools, and equipment required to perform these requirements.

Requirements

  • 2 years formal training in a technical skill (instrumentation, electrical or mechanical).
  • 5-7 years experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of related industrial equipment.
  • 2 years of direct planning and scheduling experience and demonstrated proficiency in industry-wide and plant-specific safety, equipment repair, work process planning, piping and instrumentation layout, and personnel management techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand and promote the INEOS “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that personnel are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.
  • Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.
  • Ensure completion of own and direct subordinate training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.
  • Develop and maintain procedures as needed to comply with facility maintenance, ISO 9000, and process safety management requirements.
  • Maintain department within budget within area of responsibility.
  • Direct supervision of maintenance crews in the absence of the assigned Maintenance Supervisor and Lead.
  • Primary responsibility for the review of plant maintenance notifications to formulate manpower, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Determine job sequence and priority through coordination with production, maintenance supervisors, and planner/schedulers.
  • Determine accurate requirements for and schedule all material (including common tools and erection equipment) and manpower for low priority work orders to achieve cost effective and timely maintenance work.
  • Provide Maintenance, Production, and the Engineering Department, with accurate labor and material estimates through use of established time standards and job knowledge.
  • Directly responsible for providing detailed plans for completing plant, unit or equipment shutdowns.
  • Coordinate contract maintenance to accomplish the assigned work within established time frames and contract agreements.
  • Provide Production and Engineering with accurate labor and material estimates through use of established time standards and job knowledge.
  • Update and review computer data within the CMMS system on a daily basis to ensure accurate work order management and backlog information.
  • Actively participate in the plant Quality process and ensure that manpower, man-hour, and cost estimates are available for all planned work.
  • Assist in the development and support of technological advancements and efficiency improvement methods.
  • Improve communications and / or working relationships between key positions in assigned area.
  • Review and modify procedures as needed to comply with facility, ISO 9000, and Process Safety Management requirements.
  • Generate and implement cost reduction ideas to continuously improve cost efficiencies for the department and plant.
  • Participation in the training and development plans of the Department.
