About The Position

The Lignite Planner plans all corrective, preventive, and condition based maintenance jobs for the plant using PR-ISM, PMMS, and other EFH databases along with appropriate technical information. The Planner visits the job-site to determine the resources needed to complete the job in the safest, most efficient, and cost effective manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of fossil power plant experience in mechanical, electrical maintenance.
  • Operating procedures, safety procedures, auxiliary equipment, fuel handling equipment, fossil plant planning, clearance procedures, experience in computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of RCM/CBM programs.

  • Good understanding of SCR, carbon injection and scrubber operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Directly evaluates the status of the running equipment in the assigned area on a daily basis and communicates with various other departments within the plant to verify potential problem areas.
  • Generates the appropriate actions either by creating work orders or by entering AR’s so the appropriate repairs can be planned and completed.
  • Creates work orders from AR’s; creates new standard job plans and revising existing standard job plans; builds, maintains, reviews, and corrects the PM database; continually monitors and corrects job estimates on repeatable jobs; closes schedules and review closed schedule comments to evaluate for any additional actions; builds and modifies bill of materials lists in the database; and generates reports as required and any other duties as set by the scheduler in order to support the area’s daily efforts.
  • Understands the job functions of the scheduler and will fill that position if the scheduler is away from the plant.
  • Understands the CBM technology and apply that technology by interpreting and utilizing the supporting data to properly plan up-coming projects.
  • Incorporates the latest code, safety, and regulatory changes to the current daily plans.
  • Personally understands all of the equipment and maintenance activities in the assigned area well enough to give an accurate work duration, a detailed description of the tools required, the materials to be used, and how the work will to be performed for a specific job.
  • Arranges, coordinates, provides direction, and directly supervises contracting work forces.
  • Accountable for controlling particular project assignments relative to work scope, safety, quality, production, and cost management.
  • Arranges and tracks off-site equipment repairs.
  • Provides a scope of work, schedule time lines, and cost control.
  • Ensures planning packages are complete including required permits, work instructions, materials and required notifications.
  • Communicates with other planners to ensure that priority of work being planned is correct and meets the plant needs.
  • Performs post work package reviews to ensure that work instructions were completed.
  • Modifies work instructions when required after performing post work reviews.
  • Reviews estimated versus actual man-hours for accuracy.
  • Maintains and updates as required work package instructions.
