About The Position

The Lignite Planner plans all corrective, preventive, and condition based maintenance jobs for the plant using PR-ISM, PMMS, and other EFH databases along with appropriate technical information. The Planner visits the job-site to determine the resources needed to complete the job in the safest, most efficient, and cost effective manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of fossil power plant experience in mechanical, electrical maintenance.
  • Operating procedures, safety procedures, auxiliary equipment, fuel handling equipment, fossil plant planning, clearance procedures.
  • Experience in computer maintenance management systems.
  • Understanding of RCM/CBM programs.
  • Required understanding of the functional operation of the PR-ISM and PMMS Systems and proper implementation of the procedures.

  • Good understanding of SCR, carbon injection and scrubber operations and maintenance.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills using Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Good leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the status of running equipment in the assigned area daily and communicate with various departments to verify potential problem areas.
  • Generate appropriate actions by creating work orders or entering AR's for repairs.
  • Create work orders from AR's.
  • Create new standard job plans and revise existing standard job plans.
  • Build, maintain, review, and correct the PM database.
  • Continuously monitor and correct job estimates on repeatable jobs.
  • Close schedules and review closed schedule comments for additional actions.
  • Build and modify bill of materials lists in the database.
  • Generate reports as required.
  • Understand the job functions of the scheduler and fill that position if the scheduler is away from the plant.
  • Understand CBM technology and apply it by interpreting and utilizing supporting data to plan upcoming projects.
  • Incorporate the latest code, safety, and regulatory changes into current daily plans.
  • Provide accurate work duration, detailed description of tools required, materials to be used, and how the work will be performed for a specific job.
  • Arrange, coordinate, provide direction, and directly supervise contracting work forces.
  • Control particular project assignments relative to work scope, safety, quality, production, and cost management.
  • Arrange and track off-site equipment repairs.
  • Provide a scope of work, schedule timelines, and cost control.
  • Ensure planning packages are complete including required permits, work instructions, materials, and required notifications.
  • Communicate with other planners to ensure the priority of work being planned is correct and meets plant needs.
  • Perform post work package reviews to ensure work instructions were completed.
  • Modify work instructions when required after performing post work reviews.
  • Review estimated versus actual man-hours for accuracy.
  • Maintain and update work package instructions as required.
