The Media Planner, Digital Performance Media role focuses on the day-to-day logistics of planning, implementing, and maintaining Performance Media campaigns across search, programmatic, social, affiliate, and app marketing. This role drives innovation at the campaign level, cultivates key partnerships, and collaborates with Performance Media Activation and Analytics teams. The planner will synthesize performance data, apply learnings to media plans, and contribute to performance-focused media strategies.

Requirements

  • 1+ years previous digital media experience with a performance media background
  • Basic knowledge of advanced analytics and performance media
  • Experience with Digital Media Management Platforms (i.e. Prisma)
  • Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics and concepts
  • Basic knowledge of end to end campaign execution
  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to discuss how those functions can or should be applied relative to the media planning process
  • Experience with third party ad servers
  • Familiarity with biddable channels and partner direct
  • An independent worker with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment with ability to juggle multiple projects across a portfolio of accounts

Responsibilities

  • Review Performance Media activation recommendations and contribute to creating a holistic performance-focused media plan.
  • Contribute to recommendations on where to invest client media dollars across performance media channels.
  • Contribute to reporting insights and create recommendations from performance media channel data that ties back to client business goals.
  • Maintain accuracy of insertion orders within internal systems to reserve advertising space, ensuring accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery.
  • Collaborate with assistant planners, senior planners, and supervisors for strategy and plan development.
  • Employ Horizon's suite of planning, evaluation, and buying tools for analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development, and reporting.
  • Participate in team brainstorms for plan and consideration set development.
  • Monitor trends, tools, opportunities, and applications in biddable environments and apply that knowledge with performance teams.
  • Create and present media-specific documents such as media plans, objectives and strategies decks.
  • Oversee trafficking and site tagging, ensuring sites are enabled and functioning properly, and QA'ing all pixels.
  • Issue specs documents and ensure all materials are received from creative agency/channel teams.
  • Oversee creation of campaign post-launch information such as screenshots, links, and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement.
  • Advise on post-campaign reconciliation and billing.
  • Monitor and report weekly on biddable and direct channel performance, communicating optimization opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide critical thinking and analysis on large datasets, drawing conclusions and discovering actionable implications.
  • Collaborate with channel teams, including analytics teams, to aggregate data and ensure standardization across accounts.
  • Provide data for dashboards/Excel trackers, ensuring accuracy and validity.
  • Collaborate with Senior Planner or Supervisor to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Keep Senior Planner and Supervisor updated on the status and timing of deliverables.
  • Maintain relationships with key external partners and vendors to ensure execution timelines.
  • Manage communication about performance goals and pacing.
  • Engage and interact with other Horizon departments, such as Business Solutions, Traffic, and Operations.
  • Apply knowledge of current/previous clients’ specific business and industry to enhance and further relationships.
